NO SURPRISES ACT

HELPING YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR RIGHTS AGAINST SURPRISE MEDICAL BILLS

Starting in 2022, there are new protections that prevent surprise medical bills. If you’re uninsured or you decide not to use your health insurance for a service, under these protections, you can often get a good faith estimate of the cost of your care upfront, before your visit.

The No Surprises Act also protects you from unexpected out-of-network bills for most emergency services. You can only be billed what your balance would be for emergency services at an in-network facility.
